China CPI Decreases in July Hinting Weak Demand

Data released on Thursday by China's National Bureau of Statistics shows that the Consumer Price Index rose 1.8% in July, a decrease from the 2.2% seen in June. 
 
The annual change in CPI is a indicator, which can be used to measure inflation. 
 
Despite the change and decrease in CPI, Chinese economists think the continuous decline is not just a result of carryover effects, but of weakening market demand caused by panic over a slowing economy.
