Canadian pop star Justin Bieber played a small acoustic concert in the "The Square" near Frankfurt Airport on Tuesday.

Only 500 fans were allowed in, while many more waited outside to catch a glimpse of the 18-year-old.

Before the start of the concert, Bieber spoke about his success, saying he never thought he would go so far.

[Justin Bieber, Singer]:
"I really never thought we'd get to this level. I never expected any of this so I definitely feel blessed and I just take it day by day. I try not to take myself too seriously. I just have fun."

Beiber's latest album "Believe" came out in June."Believe" serves as Bieber's highly anticipated sequel to his debut album "My World 2.0,".

It has raised speculation whether the YouTube star will be a short-lived phenomenon or a long-term staple in the music world.

[Justin Bieber, Singer]:
"I think my musical development is going to change throughout my whole career. I think that each album is going to be different and something new which the fans will never expect because if I do the same thing every album, I don't want my fans to get bored or something like that so I always throw corner balls at them."

His new album "Believe," reveals an edgier, more grown-up side to the young star who has gained a worldwide fan base with innocent love songs.  He says fans will be in for some surprises.

[Justin Bieber, Singer]:
"For the tour I think people can expect something totally different. I put a lot more time and energy into this tour. Last time I had a week to rehearse for the tour and this time I had almost two months so I'm really happy with everything that's been going on."

This latest tour, which ends in April,  will cover his home country of Canada, the U.S., and Europe.
