Obese Kookaburra Receives Special Care

An Australian kookaburra bird is going on a diet after growing too fat to fly.

A local in Sydney spotted the bird at park, and brought it to Taronga Zoo where a temporary home and care is provided.

The bird weighed just over a pound, but it’s nearly 40 percent heavier than a normal adult bird.

The kookaburra is put under a special exercise and diet routine to bring its weight down.

The bird’s weight problems started after people at a park in Sydney began feeding it sausages at cookouts.
