Ukraine's Top-10 Ambassadors
The Institute of World Policy announced the Top-10 most efficient ambassadors, from those working within Ukraine and Ukrainian ambassadors serving abroad in 2009.
[Alyona Getmanchuk, Director of the Institute of World Policy]:
"Both our ambassadors and foreign ambassadors should know that we monitor, watch, and carefully observe what each member does and how."
Leading experts in the field of international relations awarded the highest mark to the Ambassador of France working in the Ukraine.
[Jacques Faure, Ambassador of France]:
"We believe that our mission in Ukraine is useful. We want to reach the goal that one day Ukraine will become a partner among the countries of Europe".
[Guillaume Narzhollet, First Secretary of Embassy of France in Ukraine]:
"Giving help is not just saying 'Yes' constantly. It also means to say, 'We think that it is better not to do this.' This action can be compared to giving advice to a friend."
Second place was given to the Ambassador of Germany and the third to that of Poland. The representative of Georgia was also amongst the Top-10.
[Teimuraz Nishnianidze, Consul of Georgia in Ukraine]:
"Probably one of the major achievements is the economic interdependence of our countries. We are having tremendous growth of trade turnover between our countries, especially in recent years."
The Top-10 ambassadors in a foreign country was headed by Oleh Shamshur, representing Ukraine in the United States.
