Video Captures Violence in Homs, Syria
Gun shots ring out and dozens of Syrian protesters flee for cover.
They run into an open field in the southern city of Homs as the bullets continue to fly.
In the distance are government security forces.
The people in this video, which comes from a social media website, are lucky.
Human rights campaigners say government gunmen shot and killed 11 mourners following a funeral Saturday in Homs.
The funeral was for 10 people killed by security forces last week.
It quickly became a protest march where mourners chanted "down with the regime".
Homs has been a hotbed of rebellion against the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
He has been criticized for bloodily supressing a three-month-old popular uprising here and in several other cities.
