Thousands Celebrate at Tripoli's Main Square
Libyans at Tripoli's Martyrs Square, formerly known as the Green Square, celebrated with their new flag the capture and death of Gaddafi in Sirte on Thursday.
Residents are overjoyed.
[Basheer Garboor, Resident and Former Political Detainee]:
"This is the happiest day of my life, not because of who we killed, God knows what he is, the killer of women and children the thief of money and the destroyer of homes. The Libyan people are, thanks to God, happy to have gotten rid of the tyrant, even the entire world."
[Omar Buaysha, Resident]:
"We would like to send a message to Bashar and Saleh since they saw the tyrant and what happened to him and it is very important that you will learn a lesson from this."
The atmosphere was festive with many residents dancing and cheering as they close the chapter that brought an end to the 42-year-old Gaddafi rule.
