Hundreds gathered in the Libyan town of Janzour to honor a local official killed in clashes between rival groups.

Mourners wept openly and some fired into the air as his casket was being lowered.

Locals have blamed the incident on Zintan fighters whose headquarters inside this building came under attack just days later.

The violence in a town just ten miles west of Tripoli is evidence of the threat militias pose to the country's still shaky security.

Last month, rival groups attacked each other with rockets and mortars for up to in four days.

Earlier in the week, the United Nations identified militia groups as the greatest concern to efforts to re-build Libya.
