The Alphorn is something which, once heard, will never be forgotten

Today we will visit the traditional Swiss instrument known as the labrophone or Alpine horn. Along with the St. Bernard and the Alps themselves, this long iconic instrument has come to symbolize Switzerland as a nation. Today we will visit one of this fascinating instruments most respected makers.

This huge shepherd’s horn is linked to nature by the wood from which it is fashioned.  And the challenges in its production are multiple.  To produce such a high-quality instrument Mr Pot draws on scientific research, ancestral knowledge, craftsmanship, his experience as a precision mechanic expert and a lot of passion.
